FAQ's

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF SOY WAX?

  • Soy wax is a vegetable wax derived from soy bean oil, while its counter partner, paraffin wax is derived from petroleum (a refined a gasoline product).
  • Soy wax is a natural, renewable resource.
  • Soy wax is biodegradable and cleans up with plain old soap and water.
  • Soy wax has a lower melting point and because of this, soy candles will burn slower and longer than paraffin candles.
  • Soy wax burns with zero soot if burned correctly.

WHY IS THERE A WET LOOKING OIL ON TOP OF MY SOY CANDLE?

Since soybean wax has a lower melting point than paraffin wax, it can release excess (fragrance) oils which it cannot hold (usually due to extreme temperature changes due to shipping - i.e. going from hot to cold or cold to hot environments. You can leave the excess oils or wipe them off with a tissue or paper towel. Sweat from soy candles does not affect the burn quality and generally the sweat drops will not show up again after your first burn. For optimum performance of soy candles, please store in a cool area out of direct sunlight.

WHAT CAUSES THE WHITE MARKS ON MY SOY CANDLES?

Occasionally, white marks may appear on soy candles due to the nature of the soy wax. These white marks are called frosting. This is a natural characteristic of soy wax and should not be treated as a flaw. It does not affect the quality or burn of the candle. It's a part of the soy experience! However, to minimize frosting, keep your candle out of direct sunlight and away from florescent lighting. Even changes in the weather can cause additional frosting.

WHAT CAUSES A CLEAN BURN?

The Soy and ECO wicks we use to make your candle(s). ECO wicks are a cordless cotton flat braided wick that provides increased rigidity and strength. Their self- trimming and provide a clean burn which minimizes mushrooming, soot, and smoke. ECO wicks are also lead and zinc free.

CAN I PICK THE COLOR OF MY CANDLE?

Yes, but since we use natural ingredients, color shades may vary.

HOW DO I PRACTICE CANDLE SAFETY?
